Shanta asks Sagar if he knows how Kanta will react if she finds out about the puppy. Sagar knows of the consequences but he cannot see Ganga getting sad after losing Jalebi Prasad. Shanta agrees not to tell anyone. Sagar naively tells her everything that Ganga has been thinking of her. Sagar yells out that Ganga is stupid and she understands nothing. He further says that he will just go and tell her everything. He leaves. Shanta holds Jalebi Prasad. Shanta smirks and says that Sagar does not understand anything as Ganga is right. She tells herself that it is actually good for her if someone thinks well about her. She talks to Jalebi Prasad.
Shanta says she will also show the puppy what she is capable of. Shanta smirks and says that she will make sure no one forgets this Diwali. She also says that the kids might catch her but now they both cannot tell anyone anything as she knows their secret and she will blackmail them using the dog. Madhvi makes kheer. Ganga tries to talk to her but Madhvi refuses to listen to anything. Maharaj comes to tell Madhvi that Niru is calling her. Madhvi asks Ganga to stay in the kitchen till she is back. She requests Ganga to wave the fan as to cool it. She tells her not to leave it alone as it is to be offered in Bhog. Ganga assures her she wont go anywhere. She asks Madhvi if she will listen to her when she gets back? Madhvi leaves without saying anything. Sagar notices Ganga in the kitchen.
He asks her to come with him. She refuses to leave the kheer alone. He reasons that kheer cannot walk or crawl and that his mother will find it in the same place when she comes back. Ganga comes out. She is hesitant to go away but he insists. Sagar speaks in Shanta favour. Ganga still sticks to her point. She tells Sagar that she can bet Shanta is to be blamed for whatever fights happening in the house. She says that Shanta is very bad and that she thinks ill of everyone. Sagar asks her why Shanta didn't tell anyone about Jalebi Prasad. This bothers Ganga too. Ganga says she cannot understand what Shanta wants. She opens the cupboard to check on Jalebi Prasad but he isn’t there. Sagar also checks his cupboard.
He asks as to where can Jalebi Prasad go? Sagar tells Ganga that he was there when he left him with Shanta. Meanwhile, Shanta leaves Jalebi Prasad near the utensil of the kheer. The dog upturns it and then eats it. Shanta is thrilled. She smirks and says that she has put a time bomb in the Diwali celebration. She picks him up after a while and hides him in her pallu. She tells the dog they should leave before someone sees them. She turns and she is shocked to see Ganga and Sagar there. Ganga asks her why she is sweating. Sagar asks her if she is trying to hide something from them. Ganga tells her that a thief never wants to get caught and her case is just the same. Ganga tells Sagar that she can tell what Shanta is hiding. She sweetly calls out for Jalebi Prasad. He pops his head out of Shanta's pallu.

Shanta smirks and tells Gangaa that she will tell Amma that she got a little late as (Ganga) is making up stories to hide her truth. She also says that Madhvi and Kanta will fight again over kheer and Jalebi Prasad will be thrown out of the house. Shanta says the stray dogs will eat Jalebi Prasad up. She finally tells Ganga that the decision is hers. Ganga holds Sagar and tells him she wont let anything happen to Jalebi Prasad. Shanta warns them both to keep quiet.
Amma greets the pundit as he enters. Ganga puts Jalebi Prasad in her potli. Amma comes to the kitchen. She is shocked to see the mess in the kitchen. She calls out for Madhvi. Shanta warns the kids again. Shanta adds fuel to the fire and says that this is so inauspicious. Amma scolds Madhvi for not doing something right. Madhvi is shocked to see the kheer all spilled on the kitchen slab. She questions Ganga if she did it? Sagar and Ganga look at each other. Amma tells Madhvi not to put the blame on someone else. She also says that Ganga has created problems for them since she came to leave with them. She tells Madhvi that she has been careless this time and she will have to accept it. Madhvi thinks of Shanta's words about the rights of the house.

She tells Amma that she doesn't want to compete with her ever neither when she is alive nor. Amma ji completes the sentence. Madhvi says she understands her responsibilities and that she too have some rights in the house. She tells Amma that she gave the responsibility to Ganga when Niru called her. She asks Amma why she is blaming her when something went wrong in her absence? Niru comes down hearing the commotion. Amma tells him to ask his wife. Niru asks his aunt. Shanta tells him everything. Niru says it is such a small matter and that Madhvi will make kheer again. He asks his mother why create a fuss over a small matter. Amma rebukes him once again for taking his wife’s side.
Amma tells the pundit to do everything just the way Madhvi says and she will do the puja in her room. Madhvi is in tears. She tells Amma that it is OK if he doesn't want to bless them on the day of Diwali. She further added it alright if such small things matter so much to her. Amma says it isn’t a small thing in her house as God’s Bhog got all spilled. She walks away angrily. Everyone looks sad except Shanta. Niru apologizes to the pundit for whatever happened. He leaves. Maharaj takes the pundit to the puja room. Shanta signals the kids once again before going from there. Ganga tells Sagar that Shanta is very bad and Amma was right as Shanti creates fights only. Ganga says Amma should have remembered it. Sagar wonders what to do now.

Madhvi is making preparation for the puja. Maharaj asks her if Amma will come to puja to bless them all. Madhvi nods. She says that Amma always blesses them all in the puja every year and she will do it this year too. She looks sceptical though. Shanta fills Amma's ears against Madhvi. She tells her that she take blessings from elders and elders don’t go to youngsters to give their blessings. Amma is left in thoughts. Mehri comes to ask for money on the occasion of Diwali. Amma angrily stares at her. Mehri comes inside the hall muttering something. Madhvi asks her what happened. Mehri regrets asking Amma for money. She tells Madhvi that she is poor but it doesn’t mean someone will scold them or ill treat them. She says Amma could have refused but she rather curse her? Mehri tells Madhvi that she can only handle it as she (Mehri) wouldn’t have handled it if she was in Madhvi's place.
Mehri tells Madhvi that Amma is an elder and they all respect her but it doesn’t mean she will say anything when she feels like. She leaves. Maharaj wonders what made Mehri so upset. He wonders what would have Amma said to her? He goes. Shanta tells Madhvi that Kanta was wrong to curse Mehri and that she feels bad. Madhvi says she thought Amma was upset only with her. Shanta affirms that Kanta got angrier the moment she got to know Mehri came there on Madhvi's insistence. She further says that Amma gets angry hearing Madhvi's name. Madhvi goes from there. Shanta thinks that she will ruin the peace of the house real soon.
Ganga tells Ganga that Shanta is too clever. Sagar too had thought so. He says that she is so bad and he thought she would help them in hiding Jalebi Prasad. Ganga cannot understand how someone can be so bad. They are readying some project. Jalebi Prasad comes there. He is all entangled in the ribbons. They both free him together. Ganga remarks that together they will have to bring out Shanta's truth before Amma and Madhvi. Sagar nods. He reminds Ganga that they cannot speak up though as Jalebi Prasad will be thrown out of the house. They both feel stuck. Madhvi asks Maharaj to call everyone downstairs for the puja.
She is going to call Amma when Shanta stops her. She tells Madhvi that Kanta is so angry with her and she might take out her anger on the kids as she might say something wrong to them. Madhvi denies. She tells Kanta that Amma might be upset with her but she loves her son and grandsons a lot and she will surely come. Shanta stops her again. She tells Madhvi that Amma will do it till her grandsons remain her grandsons and that she will explode the day they become their mother’s sons as she knows her very well. She tells Madhvi that she doesn't like speaking against her sister but that is the truth. She says she doesn't know how Madhvi tolerate so much and that everyone should have a daughter in law like her.

She says that Kanta is really lucky. Shanta tells Madhvi that she would suggest her to send Niru and the kids to talk to Kanta and she should not go at all as she will also try to talk to her. She leaves. Niru asks Madhvi about Amma. Shanta notices Amma sitting alone in a corner. She smirks and says that this is the right time. She asks Amma if she wont come for the puja. Amma nods. She gets up to go when Shanta blocks her way. She tells Amma that she has a big heart and that she wouldn’t have gone if she was in her place. She tells Amma that the elders have to show their authority. She tells Amma that she would say that she shouldn’t come out till Madhvi comes here and says sorry to her.
Shanta tells Amma that this is the time for her to show them her value or no one will respect her. Amma says she is right. She affirms that she will only go when Madhvi comes to call her. Shanta very smartly leaves the decision on her. She tells Amma that she is only a guest after all and she cannot say anything in her family matters. Amma thinks that her sister is right and she should wait and watch if her daughter in law respects her or not. Amma tells her sister that no puja has happened in the house without her till date and she will see what happens today. Madhvi asks Niru and the kids to go and make Amma agree for the puja.
She tells Niru that Amma always listens to him. Niru wants her to come along but she thinks of Shanta's words. She tells Niru that she cannot come as Amma is upset with her. She later says that whatever happened was between them and she doesn't want her kids to miss Amma's blessings. Madhvi says they all should go and make her agree. Niru leaves. Madhvi asks Sagar to go too. Sagar and Ganga go after Niru. Niru, Sagar and Ganga request Amma to come downstairs. They tell Amma that they will only start the puja when she join them. Amma is about to agree when her sister’s words ring in her ear. Niru tells the kids to come as Amma wont come with them. He leaves. Shanta enters just then.
She sends the kids outside and says she will talk to Kanta. Sagar and Ganga reluctantly leave. Outside, Ganga understands that Shanta is behind it and she only filled Amma's ears against Madhvi. On the other hand, Amma feels bad that her daughter in law is so arrogant as she didn't come to request her to perform the puja. Shanta acts all innocent and says she is just an outsider and that will be wrong if she say anything in Amma's family matter. Amma feels hurt. Shanta smirks seeing her condition.

Madhvi is shocked to know that Amma refused to come out. Niru cannot understand why his mother is so angry. The kids are all sad. Niru says that he wont let them get sad on this auspicious day because of Amma's anger. He asks the pundit to start the puja. Ganga feels bad. She wonders how they will do the puja without Amma? Sagar remarks that this has never happened before. Madhvi feels bad. She says that Amma hates her so much that she wont come to the puja to bless her kids? Shanta says Niru is right and that they should do the puja themselves. She tells everyone that what if Kanta isn’t there as she (Shanta) is here and will sit in the puja. She tells them that she is the elder of the house after all.
She asks Sagar and everyone to come. Ganga thinks that Amma's sister is doing everything wrong. Niru, Madhvi and Maharaj sit down for the puja along with Shanta. Niru asks the kids to sit too. They comply but feel bad. Shanta asks Sagar if he does not want to do the puja. Sagar is about to retort when Ganga reminds him of their helplessness. She tells Sagar that she is also angry but they cannot say anything or else Shanta will tell everyone about Jalebi Prasad. Sagar thinks of the tensions in the house that have surfaced in the house because of Shanta. Ganga vows not to spare Shanta the day she gets a chance. The pundit asks Niru to call Amma as it is good if the elders of the house do a few rituals of the puja.
Niru tells him to let Shanta do it. Shanta acts all modest and politely denies. Niru tells Madhvi that even he is feeling bad as Amma is not sitting with them in the puja on such a big occasion. Niru says that Amma should think of this as she is the elder of the house and that they had gone to make her agree. He asks the pundit to let Shanta perform the rituals. Shanta does the rituals. The pundit asks her to do the prayers too as she is the elder of the house. Ganga knows Shanta is happy to create fights between everyone in the family and that everything is happening as per Shanta's wish.
