[OPINION] How Peter Obi Betrayed PDP • Seeks Federal Sympathy, By Okoye Ikechukwu

His Excellency Peter Obi who was speaking in Abakiliki, Ebonyi State, during The 2017 Independence Anniversary lecture, maintains that President Buhari shouldn't be blamed for the leadership failure that bedeviled the nation rather should blame past administrations for poor governance.

Unmasking The Real Peter Obi

In political alliance, Mr. Obi has habit of befriending any president in power. Mr. Obi sang the praises of former President Olusegun Obasanjo at a time when most Nigerians were very critical of the Obasanjo Presidency.

We could recall that when majority of  Nigerians were disappointed in President Umaru Yar’Adua and called him “President Go-Slow,” Governor Obi ran to the defense of the ineffectual and ailing man. Mr. Obi stated that he and the now deceased ruler had a similar style of governance, claiming that Mr. Yar’Adua was first devoting time and energy to making solid plans as a prelude to implementation.

Recalling Chief Peter Obi speaking to the press on why he's joining PDP to support the reelection of former President Goodluck Jonathan, he said: “Mr. President is doing very well. He has a lot of policies in place that will transform the country if re-elected. We shall support him fully for the benefit of the country.” https://www.google.com.ng/amp/s/www.naij.com/amp/302844-ex-anambra-governor-peter-obi-explains-why-he-defected.html

How then can we trust a man who was full of praises for past leaders only to turn against them in 2017 because he was seeking for a third tenure in office through proxy?

It is understandable that Chief Peter Obi is never an ardent lover of People's Democratic Party, PDP rather, he's part of School of Thought that sees politics as Business of Politics where one can easily impose a candidate and work against the progress of the state if his biddings weren't accepted.

Saint Peter Obi should lead the campaign for good governance by staying away from politics of imposition. How could a nation or state with Sir Peter Obi survive when after the fight against godfatherism was won in Anambra State insisted in imposing his godson to the populace even when his stooge isn't acceptable?

On issues of IPOB, if Sir Peter Obi had provided enabling environment for the youths and in the same line, had advised his colleagues when he was two term Governor of Anambra State on needs to provide jobs, create viable environment and call for massive economic diversification the issue of insurgency should have solved itself by now and shouldn't have been our national problem.

How could there not be a failed leadership when In June, 2009, his close aide, Valentine Obienyem, was caught in Lagos as he hauled N250 million in cash in a government vehicle that traveled to Lagos from Awka by road. It was evidence that the former governor transferred between “security vote” funds of N250 million and N300 million each month from Anambra State to the Apapa headquarters of Next International, the ex-governor’s company.

Anambra 2017 And Mr. Obi's Mission.

As Chief Peter Obi in his usual manner seeks Federal sympathy to have his godson imposed as Anambra State Governor, it is quite understandable that he's leading the campaign of imposition to re-coup his N7Billion and seeks for Federal Appointment; Secretary General of Federation SGF.
