[OPINION] Did Nnamdi Kanu Disappear With The Call For Restructuring Too?

By Azuka Onwuka

Have you noticed that since the disappearance of Nnamdi Kanu, the talk about restructuring has lost steam?

The only reason even those who opposed restructuring began supporting it or discussing it was because of the threat posed by Kanu and IPOB about the exit of Biafra.

As long as we write about restructuring from our bedrooms, nobody will pay attention to it. It has been so for over 20 years, and can't change now.

The only time the powers that be will pay any serious attention to restructuring is when it becomes crystal clear that without it, Nigeria will disintegrate.

Sadly people who don't think deep focused on Kanu and spent time and energy antagonising him, not seeing that his "madness" had a positive thing for Nigeria.

Just mark it, no restructuring will happen in Nigeria. The best is that there will be some increment in the percent of derivation to states with oil.

In 20 years time, we will still be writing angry articles bemoaning the deteriorating state of Nigeria and how the incumbent president has failed and how God should send us a wonderful leader to transform Nigeria.

It is only when crude oil is exhausted or irrelevant that any serious discussion on restructuring may start.
