According to complete sports, a legal dispute between Kelechi Iheanacho’s former and current agents regarding the Super Eagles forward’s image rights is the reason for the delay of his impending move to Leicester City.
Leicester City and Iheanacho’s current club Manchester City reportedly agreed a £25million fee almost a month ago for Iheanacho and according to a report on Leicester City Mercury, the Foxes are prepared to wait for the result of the dispute before sanctioning the move.
The 20-year-old was alleged to have signed with a new agency (Stellar Group) while he had an existing agreement with First Eleven Manage-ment, an America-based agency, in December.
“Kelechi got himself in this mess not allowing his existing deal to run out before jumping at another one,” a source said.
“The court will decide his fate in the coming days but he has tried to settle out of court by offering them (First Eleven Manage-ment) more money but they refused by demanding outrageous fee.”
