Nwakaeme, Ogu Steer Hapoel Be’er Sheva To Champions League Qualifier Win

Nigerian pair of John Ogu and Anthony Nwakaeme were in action for Hapoel Be'er Sheva who beat Hungarian League champions Honved Budapest 2-1 in the first leg of the  2017/2018 UEFA Champions League second qualifying round first leg clash at the Yaakov Turner Toto Stadium in Israel on Wednesday.

Honved Budapest also paraded Nigerian full-back Ikenne King for the whole game.

Davide Lanzafame scored a crucial away goal for Honved Budapest after goals from Miguel Vitor and Daniel Einbinder in each half gave back-to-back Israeli champions Hapoel Be'er Shevaa comfortable lead. The second leg is billed for Budapest next week.

It was Ogu's seventh appearance in the competition and he has scored once, while Nwakaeme extended his goal drought to eight games despite providing one assist so far.

For King, it was his debut appearance in the competition.
