APGA Reacts To Nnewi High Court Order, Says It's "A Delusion Of Grandeur"

The Agbaso-led-leadership of APGA has reacted to the order by Nnewi High Court, presided over by Justice Chukwudi Okaa which restrained the party from holding primaries.

Court Restrains Agbaso From Holding APGA Primaries.

Read the press release below:

Nnewi Bootleg Ex Parte Order ; A Delusion Of Grandeur

The attention of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA has been drawn to an Order issued yesterday 18/7/17 by a high court of Anambra State holden at Nnewi and presided over by Justice Chukwudi Okaa, the father of Governor Willie Obiano’s Special Adviser on pharmacy, Valentine Okaa,

While the party is not perturbed by the silliness of the said Order and those behind it,  APGA wishes  to seize this opportunity to allay any misgivings that the general public, supporters and membership of the party may harbour.

Firstly, no Order of court was bought by Victor Oye and his band of confusionist and no Order was made against the All Progressives Grand Alliance by the Nnewi High Court barring her from conducting her primaries for the 18th November,  2017 governorship election.

Secondly, no court can stop APGA from holding primaries to elect her candidate for the November 18, 2017 governorship election in Anambra State.

Finally, APGA wishes to draw the attention of our members and the general public to the provisions of section 87 (11) of the 2010 Electoral Act, as amended, which provides thus, ‘nothing in this section shall empower the courts to stop the holding of primaries or general elections under this Act pending the determination of any suit’.”

APGA therefore wishes to emphatically state that the scheduled primary and events leading thereto for the nomination of candidate for the November 18 gubernatorial polls will go ahead unhindered and in accordance with the Constitution of APGA,  the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Electoral Act both in their letters and spirit.

We have equally instructed our team of lawyers to approach the said court at Nnewi with a view to setting aside the obnoxious Order and exposing it for what it is; an abuse of the processes of court.
