Apparently the success of sit at home ordered by Nnamdi Kanu's IPOB ruffled so many feathers .
I have been reading all sorts on this Facebook, ranging from the ridiculous to outright lies and seriously Im yet to wrap my head around all these information I have been reading from the same people I share the same nationality with.
Apparently another civil war broke out on Facebook simply because Igbos choose to honour their heroes and loved ones that died during the civil war.
What is wrong with that If I may ask?
My dad lost his parents during the civil war, to you the tribal bigot writing no nosense, would you move on if you were in his shoes?
Even some people whose State capitals are not more developed than Ogbunike my home town called South East a backward region.
Unbelievable!
High point of the insult was when someone said South East has no governor since 1999, the person writing this has stayed in Lagos all his life, he has not visited Anambra to experience the good governance left behind by Peter Obi or the one they said we should be grateful to Yorubas for accommodating us.
Let me bring this home, a senior friend of mine from Anambra recently bought properties in Lagos because he believed in the unity of this country and the total cost of the transaction was 2:5 billion naira. This my friend paid cash and has gotten the C/O of the 2 lands.
Note that these lands were not given to my friend for free, he paid for the real value but Tomorrow, some one would wake up to write that he should be grateful for his host's accomodating nature.
Are you meant to be grateful because you did business with some one and money exchanged hands? I don't get this mindset honestly
More unbelievable that the people peddling these nonsense work and stay abroad, they earn their living in a place where things work and an environment where no one has reminded them to be grateful of the opportunity they were exposed to.
There is absolutely no way any nation can move forward with the deep seated hatred against the Igbos that has been on display since Thursday.
This notwithstanding, my faith in restructred Nigeria still remains unshakable. I believe that they are good Nigerians, not all Nigerians are tribal bigots and my life story speaks to this.
Im 31, I run a flourishing digital advertising business in Lagos, the biggest client we work for today is not an Igbo owned company and the same with the people that have helped me in my life journey, some of them are not Igbos.
I believe that all these tribal bigots that are peddling hate and lies on social media can do better.
Life is better when we embrace our diversity because we are stronger together as one and I strongly believe that the prosperity of our people can only be unleashed in a restructured Nigeria where equity and equality is the watch word.
Most of us are agitating for a better Nigeria for our kids, a Nigeria where my son does not need to score higher before gaining admission into Unity schools but will be sidelined when DSS wants to do recruitement.
This is not how a serious country works.
This is what so many Young Igbos are agitating for and nothing more than that.
Enough said
