Earlier today, cfrmagazine.com reported the visit of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, the leader of Indigenous Peoples Of Biafra, IPOB to elder statesman and Nigeria's first republic minister of aviation, Chief Mbazulike Amechi( Dara Akunwafo) at his country home in Ukpor, Anambra State.
cfrmagazine.com gathered that Kanu's mission was to brief Chief Amechi, as an elder statesman, on the activities of his group IPOB and their quest for Biafra actualization.
Chief Amechi commended Kanu for his doggedness and perseverance in making sure that his people get what truly belongs to them but cautioned him on the statement credited to him in the media which concerns the total boycott of all the subsequent elections in the South east region.
According to Chief Mbazulike Amechi, boycotting the elections would be counter productive.
"There is nothing wrong with your agitation but the call for election boycott is totally out of it because it will further deepen the sufferings of the masses.
"Let's assume the boycott would be successful and that day of election, a party with fraudulent candidate wins, what do you thing would happen? That's going back to square one. It is the right of every citizen from 18 years and above to vote but telling them to boycott the election is breaching their fundamental human rights. Boycott or no boycott, elections must hold and someone must be declared winner, even with just a total of 100 votes." he said.
Chief Amechi also urged Kanu to always eschew violence and try to avoid anything that will hamper the peaceful agitation his group is known for.
