Worshipers of Nnamdi Kanu are as passionate and totally sold out to the subject of their worship as those of President Jonathan. I think one of our biggest challenges in Nigeria is that we now have three gods whose worshipers dare not accept criticism of their deity from any quarter.
It is thus not surprising at the ferocity worshipers from two of the camps, hitherto united in their campaign, start fighting at the village square.
I knew from the onset that the support IPOB was getting from hardcore Jonathanians was superficial, it was a support of convenience; it is simply "my enemy's enemy becoming my friend". In a way, it is good for Kanu and his group, at least they know who are with them, and who are against them.
Do you know why Jonathanians are so pained by that criticism? Nnamdi Kanu did not say anything new that Asari Dokubo, Chibuike Amechi, Edwin Clerk, or few other figures in the region have not said.
I think this will equally help Nnamdi Kanu to go to the drawing board, and redraw his Biafran map as it is evidently clear he wont get support from some quarters because of this 'faux pas'.
Now that one god has taken on another god, all the lesser mortals are tearing at themselves.
But it also goes to highlight the fact that most alignments we have in this country are alignments of convenience. That is why when social commentators make fundamental projections based on such alignments, I laugh.
As I write, another very big alignment of convenience is being shaken from its roots, and it will soon crumble. As soon as it crumbles, most of its beneficiaries will have no choice that acknowledge that time has truly come to restructure this country.
