I woke up this morning to remember i have worked in four different places in my short or long life for free.......Yes, free of charge per day, week, month and in a particular place over a year.
I have no regret I took those decisions and will even recommend same thing to anyone who wants to work basically to learn, and may still do it part time to learn from others who have the knowledge I don't have.
Yesterday, I read so many stories of people in support of Lagos state Government offering Bus Conductor jobs to HND and Bsc holders and i saw one common trend, they all assumed we are against it and don't have moving, touching, inspiring or motivational stories like theirs.
They are wrong and don't get it at all why Lagos State Government shouldn't be the pacesetter of 'super under employment' Why?
Individual stories are not what are needed for Economic Growth that will take Nigeria out of big time employment and under employment crisis.
Your personal inspirational, motivational achievements, Mr a, Mrs b, or Pastor or Alfa C or D are different from what it takes for national economic growth and development with relation to employment crisis.
This personal growth mentality is what many of our failed leaders take into government. If you cant inspire people to think and act big, but teaching them how to individually survive and fight for personal growth, you will take same mentality into govt and will lead with the small mind which is not a characteristic of good visionary leader that we lack in government this part of the world.
Government leaders are meant to think and act with bigger picture economically or otherwise. I asked a simple question, which is, "If some selfish CEOs and Board of Private Companies decide to slash the salaries of their graduate workers and give Lagos State Government under employment case as an excuse that after all a bigger and richer state is offering people this and people are rushing it, what will you or those who support the state government action say, after all, you can't see the bigger picture and ripple effect, rather you think only you and your likes understand what dignity of labour is.
This is a very big problem in our part of the world. Obj, Bola Tinubu, Chibuike Amaechi, Buhari, Goodluck Jonathan Gej, etc, all had these kind of inspiring personal stories, but how have they used them to transform Nigeria from a third world country into a second world not to mention being among Super Economic World Leaders.
Government promoting Under Employment is terrible in 21st Century even in any past century. A word is a enough for the wise.
