How Robbers Killed a Final Year Mathematics Student In Anambra State University

Dozie, a final year Mathematics Student of Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu University Uli, formerly known as Anambra State University, died from injuries he sustained during a robbery attack at his lodge, on Sunday night, October 23rd 2016, few days after returning from his 6 months industrial training, IT.


According to an eyewitness, robbers armed with hammer and cutlass invaded his off campus hostel, few metres away from the school compound and ordered Dozie who was living with his younger brother to surrender their cell phones and money.

Dozie resisted all attempts by the robbers to take away the phone which led to a mild brawl. When the robbers found out they couldn't easily collect the phone, they smashed his head with a hammer and he collapsed.

He suffered a life threatening head injury, and on Monday morning of October 24th, he was taken to the school clinic for proper treatment but couldn't survive because he had already lost a lot of blood.

In a similar UNCONFIRMED report, another engineering student was found dead at a river with stab wounds, few metres away from the University few days ago.
