A two-time former member of Anambra State House of Assembly (name withheld by us) was allegedly caught up in an awkward plagiarism scandal during an LL.M thesis defence at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, (COOU) Igbariam campus.

According to our COOU correspondent, the former State assembly member reportedly copied almost all the pages from a published law review article verbatim without quotation or attribution to the author during the ill-fated defense which took place early this week.

Unfortunately for the former lawmaker, the author of the plagiarised work was among the panel of assessors during the presentation.

The defense was however stepped down as the Faculty of law, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University launched an investigation.

Multiple reports said the lawmaker is currently trying to use the government influence to suppress the ongoing investigation.

The Faculty of Law, Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Igbariam campus should be aware that the concerned citizens of Anambra state are currently waiting for the outcome of the investigation. Hence, the need to do the proper thing.

More details later.
