[PHOTOS] Engr. Onunkwo surprises Clergyman with a Car

AWKA – In another twist to his humanitarian focus, Anambra born philanthropist, Engr. Johnbosco Onunkwo yesterday exhibited an uncommon form of benevolence as he surprised a priest, Rev. Fr. Ochochima Okoye with a car to aid his mobility needs.

Engr. Onunkwo had invited Rev. Fr. Okoye of St. Gregory, Ihiala and friend of his to bless ‘something’ for him.

The priest who boarded public transport to the venue was left in awe when the benefactor later unveiled the surprise package as his.
Presenting the keys to the priest, Engr. Onunkwo described the gesture as paramount in the lives of every Christian. According to him, the welfare of Priests and men of God should be of utmost concern not only to parishioners but all and sundry.

In his words, “These men labour daily, interceding on our behalf and unconditionally seeking for our progress. It behooves us as a people to provide for them in whatever way we can.”

“Left for me, if I were in a position of authority or privileged to have the financial muscle, all priests and clergymen should be entitled to a brand new basic car to enable them discharge their duties in God’s vineyard.”
Engr. Onunkwo asserted that the gesture is a wake-up call on well-meaning individuals with financial capacities to appreciate clergymen with gifts such as this as it would go a long way in adding impetus in discharging their divinely assigned duties.

Responding to the gift, Rev. Fr. Okoye expressed thanks to God for using the benefactor and friend in solving his mobility need.

Describing the presentation as a big surprise, the clergyman prayed for God’s continued blessings on Engr. Onunkwo whom he described as a man who understands spiritual principles.

Recall that Engr. Onunkwo had made similar gift presentation to a man of God in Onitsha three months ago. He has equally continued to meet the health demands of the people of Anambra state through his foundation’s free medical outreach where 11 communities have benefitted so far.
