UNIZIK VC plays host to Chinese Ambassador, as 48 bag scholarships from the Embassy

The Vice-Chancellor of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka, Professor Joseph Ahaneku, FAS yesterday received the Chinese Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Zhou Pingjian in his office.

The Ambassador was in the University for the October 1st Chinese Ambassador's Scholarship Award for excelling and indigent students.

48 students of the University benefitted from the scholarship.

The students were drawn across various faculties in the University with 14 from the department of Chinese Studies.

48 were chosen significantly to mark 48 anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Peoples Republic of China and Nigeria.

The Ambassador presented the cash prize of N100,000 each to the deserving students.

He equally expressed hopes that the scholarship award would continue.

Recall, 47 students benefitted from the scholarship in 2018.
