JUST IN: Many pupils dead, over 100 trapped as school building collapses in Lagos

Tragedy struck at Ita-Faaji area, Lagos Island, as a 3 storey building housing a school collapsed, killing and trapping many pupils.

A witness said the incident occurred around 10am on Wednesday. A floor in the building is being used as a school and pupils were in their classrooms when the building collapsed.

Officials of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA) and other rescue official are currently at the scene.

As at the time of filing this report, some of the victims have been taken to the General hospital, Marina while parents are trooping there to search for their children.
