BREAKING: Council of state approves N27,000 as new minimum wage

Obasanjo and Buhari at the council of state meeting today.
The national council of state has approved N27, 000 as the new minimum wage.

The council gave the approval at its first meeting of the year on Tuesday.

The council comprises past presidents and heads of state, chief justices of Nigeria, the leadership of the National Assembly and state governors among others.

Former Head of Interim National Government, Ernest Shonekan, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Abdulsalami Abubakar, Goodluck Jonathan and others attended the meeting which was presided over by President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Recall that the tripartite committee had recommended N30, 000 as minimum wage in December, 2018.
