Ofala Festival in Oba: Ogilisi Igbo, Ngige, Ekwunife, others pay Ezeokpoko final respect

Chief Rommy Ezeonwuka (OGILISI IGBO) accompanied by the members of Ogilisi Foundation today paid a condolence visit, and also attended the last Ofala Festival of the late traditional ruler of Oba - Igwe P. C Ezenwa (EZEOKPOKO OBA). An event which marked the end of the funeral rites of the late traditional ruler.
Speaking today at the festival, Ogilisi reminisced on the good relationship between him and the late Ezeokpoko and the entire Oba Community.

He said - "Ezeokpoko is an exceptional leader who always stood for justice when he was alive. Today, he is no more, but his legacy and bold footprints in Oba lives on. Both of us shared same dreams for the community and I am happy that he was alive to witness the results of the efforts made by himself, groups and individuals years ago to transform Oba into the very beautiful town that it is today. Oba community is recognized today all over the country as the tourism capital of Anambra State courtsey of Rojenny Tourist/Games Village Oba; one of the biggest private investment by an individual throughout the South Eastern part of the country. I thank the Almighty for the life Ezeokpoko lived and the legacy he left: Myself, members of the cabinet, and the entire people of Oba will continue to uphold the virtues of Ezeokpoko, as much as we will keep working together to attract more developmental projects to this beautiful community where Rojenny is located".
Ogilisi Igbo also admonished the Royal family and the members of Oba cabinet not to be grief-stricken over the demise of Ezeokpoko, noting that he lived a fulfilled life worthy of emulation. He described his transition as the "beginning of a new era" and promised to keep contributing his personal efforts towards the peace, unity and overall advancement of the community the late King left behind.
In attendance also were Dignitaries from all over the country, including the former Governor of Anambra State and the current Minister of Labor and Employment - Dr Chris Nwabueze Ngige OON (ỌNWA). Former Senator and the candidate of the people's Democratic for Anambra Central Senatorial district in upcoming general election - Sen Uche Ekwunife amongst various other traditional rulers, officials from the state and the federal government also were present at the Festival.
The Ofala Festival , as expected, was marked by several Igbo cultural displays as communities in Anambra state and beyond were present in their numbers to sympathize with the Royal family and also showcase their love for the Igbo cultural heritage.

Late Ezeokpoko lived from 1926 - 2018. He lives on.
