Osun Election: Why I destroyed authentic Ayedaade LG’s poll result – INEC staff confessed

Mr. Salawu Mutiu Kolawole after he was arrested by the Police
A staff of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Osun State, Salawu Mutiu Kolawole on Sunday told journalists that his boss ordered him to destroy the election result of Ayedaade Local Government area of the state.

The latest confession corroborated the claim of the agent of PDP, Mr Dele Adeleke who explained that the result recorded and pasted on the wall at Ayedaade local government collection center was different from the one presented at the INEC office in Osogbo.

Some INEC officials cautioned Salawu from speaking with journalists as policemen moved to douse the tension. Salawu was then ushered into one of the offices.

Also, according to a report by Daily Trust, PDP Chairman in Osun State claimed that the results attributed to APC in five local government areas including Olorunda, Osogbo, Ife East, Ilesa East and Boripe LGs were inflated in favour of APC.

As it stands now, the PDP candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke is leading with 300 votes and that the figures may go up when necessary corrections are made.
