OPINION: The Ubah-nomics Effect, By Okoye Chukwudi Emmanuel

From time infinitum, politics has always determinant factor for the control of economic power.

Who controls the political space equally dictates what happens in the economic atmosphere.

So, the need for our full involvement in the political gallery is now as important as ever.
We can not continue to shy away from the very thing that dictates how we survive.

This is why we need to put our house in order and collectively put the horse before the cart.
The Igbo nation has lost a lot economical, and the reason behind this short fall is not far fetched.

It's as simple as the word  jack; Over time, we have been sending representatives who have little or zero idea in the field of commerce .
These representatives may have acquired PhD degrees in the field of finance and economics, but like the wise men said, "Experience is the Best Teacher "

What we actually need are individuals who understand the complexity of the Nigerian Economy ,Men who have been in the field  - people who have felt the heat and understand the heart beat of the Nigerian market.

Ndi Igbo, believe me, the Rome we yern for won't build it self.

We must start to hold our representatives responsible for things that lock us out of the economic equation.

For instance, since the Civil War, Port Harcourt was declared a war torn zone, this means goods and other logistics that come in from the international community can't dock in Port Hacourt, simply because a law that was enacted Forty something years ago, during the civil war is still operational.

The question remains, is Nigeria still at war?
Again, the federal government is planning to build a dry sea port in one of the northern states , which will see goods coming into the Northern part of Nigeria before clearing.

The direct benefit of this, is that clearing of goods will be easier.
Direct and indirect employment will be gained and goods will be cheaper.
Also, Tax which would have ordinarily gone to Lagos in the West will now be paid to the North. This brings more development.

So, if a sea port is not Suitable in the south east or south south with alot of marine bodies, why the the far north?

This is why the Eastern part of Nigeria has to rise  and demand to be treated fair.
What is good for the goose is equally good for the gander.

Many years after the second Niger Bridge was commissioned, work on the bridge is crawling, if not snoring !

Another question is, what is stopping with the federal government from making the River Niger Cargo friendly?

The answer is not far fetched.
The legislative will power.
If only we had the right men in the Senate and House of Representatives to lobby and influence projects like this.

If only we will stop sending pancakes rubbing and "Okada" buying legislators to Abuja.

The youths are tired of being unemployed!

Why do our importers have to go through Lagos before getting their goods to Onitsha, Enugu, Nnewi and Aba?
When they can easily dock in Port Hacourt?

We are seriously tired of legislators who sink boreholes ,buy wheel barrows as empowerment tools and share cars to their cronies.

What we need are laws that will enhance industrialization.
We are tired of being beggars in our own  country.
This and many more are the reasons we need men like Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah in the Senate.

He has been in the economic and commerce sector of this country for more than two decades and counting.
He understands how this country works.
He single handedly crashed the price of dollar when it was hiked unceremoniously!

Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah is a champion in all ramification.
He is a man driven by a passion to succeed and a spirited excellence in all his endeavour.
He is enthusiastically passionate about the future of the Igbo nation, just like Senator Victor Umeh.

What the Igbo nation needs now is to send Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to the Senate and tap from the glory of what i describe as UBAH-NOMICS.

Whatever he touches turns to gold- the man with the midis touch.

It's time we key into the "Ubah-nomics" effect and commence a long but sweet journey of transforming the Socio - political cum economy of the Igbo nation.

Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah is a man who is always ready to sacrifice for the general public.
He is a creative leader, who is dynamic and resourceful.
A human capital developer, who understands that for the Igbo nation to achieve sufficiency, the economic  environment of the Eastern Nigeria must be friendly .

We need leaders who will stand and defend the common man in the street.
Take a deep breath and imagine how much developments will come into Anambra, Enugu, Delta, Ebony, Imo and Abia States if only we can get half of what goes to the North.

Sending Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah to the Senate will yield more results than we can think of, he understands how the market works, only him can do it!
