OPINION: APGA's survival instinct and obiano's political suicide, John-Paul Obiakor

It is no longer news that His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano who doubles as the governor of Anambra State and the BOT chairman of All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) publicly said that 2019 general election primaries must be free and fair. He buttressed it at the recent political retreat for all the aspirants under the platform of APGA at Finotel Classique Hotels, Awka Anambra state.

At the retreat, the chairman of the occasion who is an American trained medical doctor cum pharmacist who owns and runs Las Vegas Pain Institute Dr Godwin Maduka made it clear that Lady Bianca Ojukwu was his preferred candidate and would stop at nothing to send her to the senate. His action did not go down well with other aspirants who were at the retreat. There was thunderous negation to what Dr Godwin Maduka said. The governor in his speech made it clear that there was no anointed candidate. He urged everybody to go to the field. He vowed to bring in electoral probity and transparency during the primaries.

In his speech, Senator Victor Umeh narrated how he fought against the state mights for the interest of the party which was being strangled by Mr Peter Obi. He specifically mentioned Dr Patrick Ifeanyi UBAH who provided his personal funds to wrestle the party from the agents of PDP led by Mr Peter Obi. He said that the party we enjoyed today was saved by Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah.

Secondly, Senator Victor Umeh told the National Chairman, Dr Victor Ike Oye to be ready to offend his friends, brothers and associates and take responsibilities for his actions for the interest of the party. He specially narrated that the enemies he made today was as a result of the decisions he took as the National Chairman which was geared towards sustaining of the party. He mentioned how the party sent Lady Bianca Ojukwu to Presidential villa to check whether Prof Soludo would be acceptable as a governor. He said that Lady Bianca reported that the villa vetoed Prof Soludo. And that is why he is having some running battles with Soludo since 2012 without Soludo knowing that it was Lady Bianca's decision.
Today, Lady Bianca is playing a sanctimonious game on APGA Hierarchy. She wants to get everything on a platter of gold which is glutinous and deadly. Lady Bianca was on Peter's side when the battle was raging. Lady Bianca is in charge of all Nnewi Motor parks and markets. Lady Bianca is being subvented monthly by the state government. A gigantic edifice is being built by good spirited Nnewi individuals for Lady Bianca as the wife of APGA Supreme leader. Yet, the same lady who had never attended meeting ndi nwunye di wants to contest for senate. The same Lady Bianca that never empowered any Anambra south citizen as an federal appointee seconded by APGA wants to represent Anambra south. The same Lady Bianca that abandoned Ojukwu at a London hospital wants to have a fair share of Ojukwu's entitlement as the supreme leader.

Today, the dance from Lady Bianca's camp is that His Excellency Chief Willie Obiano had directed all the aspirants from Anambra South to step down for Lady Bianca. The media camp of Bianca specifically one of Obiano's aide Maureen Okolieukwu, her husband Henry Okolieukwu, one Ileka, Peter Nwosu and few town criers are telling the whole world that Ifeanyi Ubah, Nicholas Ukachukwu and Ikenna Amechi should go and sit down. They are boasting that Chief Obiano has called all of them on phone to step down for Lady Bianca. They also boasted that Lady Bianca had met, settled and close the deal with the governor which made him go against his words at the retreat.

However, Bianca's team also said that the governor denied promising anybody ticket, even when Chief Ibeto who was privy of the arrangement told the governor that he actually made that agreement, they said that as far as Lady Bianca is concerned, Chief Obiano won't reverse his word on Bianca.

The questions arising from this likened to the battle fought by Victor Umeh against Peter Obi in order to save the party previously. But this time around, Bianca who played an unholy political game with Peter Obi is allying with Victor Oye and the governor to kill APGA. The likes of Victor Umeh and Anambra state chairman of APGA Chief Nobert Obi and other stakeholders are still wondering why Obiano should dance this skelewu with Lady Bianca. Does it mean that Obiano is playing out what he discussed with Buhari at China in favour of Andy Ubah for Anambra south? Does it mean that Obiano is playing Peter Obi's game to destroy APGA? Nicholas Ukachukwu also narrated how Obiano failed to fulfil their agreement in 2013. Obiano also denied having any agreement with Ifeanyi Ubah after benefitting immensely from Ubah's largesse. If not Ifeanyi Ubah's commitment of his personal funds, would Obiano be the governor today?

DOES IT KEAN THAT OBIANO DOES NOT KEEP AGREEMENTS?

Where is the integrity which made us to believe in Obiano? Peter Obi complained. Nicholas Ukachukwu complained. Ifeanyi Ubah complained. Obiano, why?
