Emmanuel Amunike has been appointed the new coach of Tanzania’s national team.

The Tanzania Football Federation (TFF) said the former Sporting Lisbon and Barcelona winger signed the dotted lines on Monday.

His first task will be to prepare the Taifa Stars for the African Cup of Nations qualifier against Uganda.

“We had so many applications for the Taifa Stars job but after looking at all factors Amuneke emerged as the best candidate for the job,” Wallace Karia, TFF president, said.

“He has established himself and he has been successful both as a player and coach.

“We will give him all the support he needs to ensure he accomplishes his mission and our focus lies on the 2019 African Cup of Nations.”

Amunike led the Nigerian U17 team to World Cup glory in 2015.
