PHOTOS: Suspected car thief lynched in Anambra

On Thursday, a mob beat a suspected car thief to death in Ukpor, Anambra state.

According to reports, the suspect stole the car while a burial ceremony was ongoing in the area.

Luck, however, ran out of him while he was escaping with the vehicle. The owner raised an alarm and he was immediately accosted by a mob, who lynched him before security operatives could get to the scene.

The police had deposited the corpse of the victim to the morgue and the vehicle taken to the station.

When contacted, the DPO of Ukpor Police Station, SP Lucky Seibai who warned the public against taking the law into their hands said investigation into the matter was in progress.
