House of Assembly aspirant, Johnbosco Akaegbobi dumps APC for PDP with hundreds of his supporters

The camp of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Nnewi South Local Government Area of Anambra State increased as a house of Assembly aspirant and popular entrepreneur, Johnbosco Akaegbobi, alias Odaaopuo and hundreds of his supporters from the All Progressives Congress (APC) defected to the party ahead of the 2019 elections.



The ceremony for the decampees, who cut across all the wards in Nnewi South constituency 2, took place in Ukpor, the country home of the aspirant on Thursday.

Receiving the defectors, a major political stakeholder from the constituency, Dim Nnakife said the defection was a testimony that the current administration had failed the people.

They promised that the PDP would carry everybody along as a family, adding that the party had learnt from its mistake and was ready to reclaim power from the ruling party.


If given the party ticket, Mr Akaegbobi would face Hon. Rita Maduagwu, the incumbent member representing the good people of Nnewi South constituency 2 in the State Assembly.
