Eid-el-Fitr: Anambra Speaker calls for religious tolerance

As Muslims all over the world celebrate the feast of Eid-el-Fitr, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Bar. Rita Maduagwu says religious tolerance among different religious bodies in the country remains the primary solution to the prevailing discrepancy witnessed in all facets of governance in the country.


In her goodwill message to the Muslims, Barrister Maduagwu urged them to pursue peace at all times since neither Islam nor Christianity preaches violence or hatred.

The Speaker who commended Governor Obiano for providing an enabling environment for the Muslim community in the State to propagate their fate and also earn their living, enjoined them to reciprocate the gesture by giving maximum support to the governor Obiano's administration at all times.


She solicited prayers from all religious organizations to surmount political, economic and religious challenges facing the masses and assured that the State legislature would continue to support all efforts to promote harmonious coexistence among different tribes in the country.
