Student commits suicide after losing Champions League bet

A Tanzanian man has committed suicide following Liverpool’s loss to Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League final played in Kiev on Saturday.

The deceased has been identified as Moses Mashaka, a second Year student at St Augustine University of Tanzania pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Education.


Mashaka had placed a bet on the game, predicting that Liverpool will be crowned champions. According to the Police, the case was reported by the landlady.
