She made this known at a conference of Speaker's of House of Assembly in the South-east held in Awka, the Anambra state capital on Friday.
The Speaker maintained that the South-east conference of Speakers was not opposed to laws and reforms that will move the country forward but those which will unite, develop the zone and provide meaningful livelihood for the people.
Rt. Hon. Maduagwu who doubled as the chairman of the conference and South-east Speaker's forum, noted that due to partial implementation of laws as well as clear absence of financial autonomy of the house, the Nigeria's legislative institution requires serious reform in order to function effectively as the first arm of the government.
The conference of Speakers' agreed to establish the South East Legislative Reform Implementation, House Service Commission, capacity building for the house members, uniform house rules and state House autonomy to pursue the aspiration of the region.
Other House of Assembly Speakers who attended the conference include: Rt. Hon Edward Ubosi (Enugu), Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim (Imo) and Rt. Hon. Francis Nwifuru (Ebonyi).
