Wizkid Slams Organizers Who Give African Artistes Backstage Awards

Nigerian Music star Wizkid just after clinching The Best International Act award at the 2017 edition of the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) awards, has voiced out his concern at how African Artists are treated by international award show organizers.

The music crooner, who has had a fantastic year music-wise and has both local and foreigner awards to show for it, condemned the practice where some international awards show organizers give the plaque to African artistes backstage, instead of doing it live on stage.

Speaking during a live interview recently, Wizkid demanded for equal treatment for African artistes, requesting that either they are shown same level of respect accorded their foreign counterparts or none at all.

“If you are not going to show us the same love you show your international artistes on the main stage, don’t show us love at all. We have our own people”, Wizkid said.
