In politics, the winner takes it all. There is no compensation prices for the first and second runners up. Chief Dr. Willie Obiano has won, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has won, ndị Anambra won ultimately.
The just concluded Anambra gubernatorial election should be a source of learning to all political observers and pundits, particularly the peculiarity of the polity of Anambra State. "As Lagos is APC (ACN), so is Anambra APGA" . It's as simple as that, as this serves as my introductory catch phrase. It's as simple as 'APGA bụ nke anyị, nke a bụ nke anyị'. APGA is no longer a political party, it's a legacy which every right thinking Igbo protect.
The man, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah has distinguished himself as an uncommon politician. A master strategist. After the show of shame and broad day robbery they called PDP primaries that produced Oseloka Obaze, fuelled by the desperation of Peter Obi in the just concluded Anambra gubernatorial election, the Nnewi-born oil Magnate studied the outstanding nature of the light of the Nation (Anambra State) and decided to team of with the indefatigable governor Willie Obiano, having seen that there wasn't much Gov. Willie Obiano was criticised and antagonise for. That was the master stroke that singled Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi for so many criticisms by some armchair analysts, who thought at the time that Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah had sealed his fate and committed the most atrocious political blunder. But they didn't see what the man saw. The man simply saw tomorrow. The man is laughing last, he's laughing best. Who is saying he has laughed too much, did you not criticise too much?
Going forward, the Anambra north in all fairness and unwritten zoning arrangement needed to complete four years with the incumbent Governor. Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah saw that clearly. No sane Anambra Southerner would vote for either of Tony Nwoye or Oseloka Obaze whom you can't trust with a single term. It was clear!
Prof. Charles Soludo opined when he asked "if it's not broken, why mend it? Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah insisted that Afa Igbo agaghị efu so he took to the trenches and campaigned vigorously for what he believed in. The whole electioneering activities assumed an all-time high when Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah stepped in. It was wonderful. The rest is history. We are victorious!
It's time to extend this victory to the rest of Southeast Nigeria and indeed Nigeria. APGA must be propagated. We are not enough with Anambra, 2019 is around the corner. Let's join hands together and make a better Alaigbo because afa Igbo agaghị efu maka n'igbo amaka.
