Opinion On Anambra Guber: Where is Tony Nwoye's Wife?

By Chimuanya Egenti.

Anambra prides in a myriad of world shaping ladies who have jmpacted the world greatly at the different climes life has propelled them to. To mention the likes of Chimamanda Adichie, Prof Dora Akunyili, Iyom Josephine Anenih, Ngozi Ezeonu, Senator Stella Oduah, Chief Mrs Stella Okoli, Amb Bianca Ojukwu and the list keeps going is to mention but a handful of the assortment, our collective pride.

The support they have enjoyed from the aspiring nature of Ndi Anambra had allowed them to sour through machinations and conquering heights in entertainment, academics, politics, commerce, health and the private sector in general.

While some were born daughters of the soil, others only lived or were married into the state. But whatever way, the accomodating mannerism of NdiAnambra always bid them welcome, little wonder it was formerly denoted as "The home for all"

Charity they say begins at home. And in the recent past, Anambra have had the most outstanding and distinguished feisty ladies supporting men who became the final signatories at the helm of the state's administrative affairs.

Mrs Margaret Obi, the Akwa-ibom born wife of the immediate past Governor, Chief Peter Obi, simplified magnanimity and bade them no boundaries.  She traversed the 181 communities of Anambra State, touching lives with an ardoned pretty smile that warms the heart.

It was at this point that we appreciated what it means, the Igbo adage that says and I quote "Nwanyi bu ugegbe ezi na ulo"(The woman is the mirror of the home). Her benevolence may have been positively overbearing on the husband who supported her charity campaign because no one can conceptualise such extensive depth of charity at the alter of scoring political points.

Then came Chief (Mrs) Ebelechukwu Willie-Obiano, a woman who incomparably, took charity to a whole new dimension, slaving away in solicitation to bring succour to the indigent. She'd always rather serve.

She betrayed the beauty of her face and the couth of her mien and took to pains through the scorching sun and nd beating rain, through bumpy roads and stormy waters to take charity to all corners of the State visiting each one of the 181 communities a minimum if 3 times in the past 3 years .

The overwhelming love and political recognition she enjoys, does not root alone in the blinding beauty of  her looks or the sagacity of her ways but in the depth of her compassion. Honestly, nothing levels that and neither can any measure of appreciation be ever commensurate.

Curiously Ndi Anambra are keen on knowing who fills this oversized shoes.

Do we leave a vacuum that may never be properly filled or filled atall? At least we have seen Dr Ofunne Obaze and clearly she's on a struggle but we've seen her.

Now begs the question, where is Mrs Tony Nwoye?

Remember the APC don't seem to regard women who in fact are the real holders of power? Remember that the APC leader PMB relegated them to the other room? Is this common trait with APC? Remember Dr Chris Ngige gave us no such opportunity?

Obviously, they don't know the power of women and with our votes we would certainly not let them denigrate womanhood.
