Second republic lawmaker, Junaid Mohammad has said that Boss Mustapha, the newly appointed secretary to the government of the federation (SGF), is Babachir Lawal’s cousin.
Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari sacked Lawal as SGF on Monday following the recommendation of the panel set up to probe the allegations levelled against him.
Speaking with PUNCH, Muhammad described the appointment as “continuation of cronyism and nepotism” in the present federal government.
“Before you begin to celebrate the appointment of Boss Mustapha as the new SGF, do you know that he is in fact, Babachir Lawal’s first cousin?” he queried.
“This is a continuation of the cronyism and nepotism the Buhari-led administration has become infamous for.”
Babachir Lawal’s company was accused of getting a suspicious N200 million grass clearing contract in Yobe state.
Ayo Oke, suspended director-general of the National Intelligence Agency (NIA), was also dismissed.
Femi Adesina, presidential spokesman, announced their sack on Monday.
