Sunday Tragedy: How Man Stabbed His Brother To Death In Ukpor

A 25-year-old man, identified as Ifenna Obi has reportedly stabbed his brother, Rapuruchukwu to death at the popular Eke Umudike fish joint in Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State.


cfrmagazine.com gathered that Ifenna stabbed the victim more than 5 times with a broken bottle in different parts of the body on Sunday night.

According to an eyewitness, the suspect (Ifenna) misplaced his Mobile phone at the joint and one Nonso Atueyi found it and started searching for the owner.

The suspect approached Nonso who was sitting with the deceased to claim the ownership of the phone but the deceased told him to mention five names in his contact list to make sure he's actually the owner.

It eventually resulted in a fight. The suspect immediately grabbed a bottle of beer, broke it and stabbed the victim in the throat. He died instantly.

Relatives and residents told our correspondent that the suspect had always threatened to kill the deceased whenever they had disagreements.

He carried out the threat around 9pm at the drinking joint.


The suspect was immediately apprehended
He was immediately arrested and handed over to the police.

The suspect would've been lynched by the angry mob if not for the timely intervention of the police led by the Divisional Police Officer, SP Lucky.

When contacted, the DPO Ukpor Police Station confirmed the killing and said his men has apprehended the suspect and the deceased has been taken to the mortuary.

He however stated that investigation has commenced as what let to the unfortunate incident is still sketchy.
