According to reports, a man who claimed to be the first son of the deceased approached an Nnewi High court to get an injunction to stop the burial because according to him, he wasn't properly informed as regards the burial ceremony, hence the need for rescheduling, in other to make adequate preparations before it could take place.
He also claimed that no other member of the family had the right to schedule the funeral which was initially set to hold on Friday, October 27 at the deceased country home, Ukpor.
But a team of lawyers for the deceased's Wife and children led by Ikenna Mbazulike-Amechi succeeded in getting the court to refuse the application for injunction as they convinced the court that there was nothing in the main suit that would warrant stopping the funeral of Chief Asuzu.
They argued that the balance of convenience was in favour of the Wife as there has been advanced preparations already for the funeral.
The court agreed and dismissed the Motion seeking an injunction to stop the burial of Chief J. O. Asuzu.
The deceased will now be laid to rest as earlier scheduled.
