OPINION: You're lying if you say Obiano has not performed, By Tobenna Obiano

I have never been known to support evil. In fact, I see myself though young but too old for such. Therefore, I can't start now. It's all about personal training, building an integrity and as a matter of principle.

If anyone feels or says that the incumbent Governor of Anambra State, Chief. Willie Obiano has failed entirely, then the person is being economical with the truth, ignorantly driven. And if it's all about Obiano must leave by all means just for hate, then foolishness could be found in the DNA of the person.

The debate should be; has he underperformed not squarely of, that he has failed. Love or hate him, he had done to a larger extent things that we should be proud of. It's not easy to sustain a workable society and prosper it to flourish.

My only thinking is that with what he met on ground, he should soar even higher than where he is now.

I also have a big problem with lies, it infuriates me. I can't tolerate it, especially when it's been played down on my thinking. I hate to see anyone feel he can fool everyone at every time, it's never done. The yam tubers and ugu story almost burst my head. How can anyone say Anambra cultivates more yam than Taraba State or Benue State, or leafy vegetables more than Bornu State. Haba, in this Nigeria? We are all Nigerians oo.

Also, the way state officials call amount amounts shocks me often. The claim of exporting US5million worth of Ugu leafy vegetable, whenever I remember it, I feel like crying. To make matters worse, this was when US1 was equal to N650. If the amount dropped I'm Anambra's account, it would have quaked it.

The worse of all, why on earth would it take two years for his Government to suddenly wake from their slumber to insisting that Obi who everyone praised for his discipline in management of Anambra's scarce resource, why would it take two years for this Government to say the monies claimed to be left behind and saved by Obi were all lies. Of course, it's a costly joke!

As if that wasn't enough, after three years, another joke comes up, that he is demanding a refund of N7billion. Why does it take this Government this late to come public with such unfounded rhetoric claim and allegation. I wouldn't want to believe its election fever.

I love Obiano as a person. I also have strong feeling that he meant well for Anambra State, he ought to have been a great leader; but hangers-on are like pest, they are determined to eat him up until nothing is left of the man.

In due time, I will decide if yes or not to support his reelection bid. He isn't worse after all, even though he should have stood a greater chance.
