[OPINION] The Danger Within And a Foreseeable Future, By Tobenna Obiano.

In 1970's - we heard of the tales of bombing and suicide as tales and stories.
In 1980's - we saw epic movies of bombing and suicide on television screens.
In 1990's - we read in the news of bombing and suicide attacks in other nations in the Middle East.

In 2000 - even world powers became major targets and were attacked with bombs and suicide attacks.
In 2010 - our nation, Nigeria was shocked to record cases of bomb blast and suicide right here in the country.
By 2020 - if we don't rise from our comfort zone, weigh in and stop the foreseeable future, bombs would be going off right in our own domain and suicide attacks would be recorded amongst our kit and kin. I talk of within Igboland!

Somehow, we have always believed that no matter what, an Igbo would never bomb, attack or kill himself for others or for any reason whatsoever.

Well, something very silly has arrived, something we never expected has arrived and it's staring us all right in the face, something unimagined is right here with us, if we don't hold our youth populace back, and allow them to continue to be used as agents, or misled by a few for common selfish interests and they keep idolizing the person of Nnamdi Kanu, soon and very soon, brothers would turn against each other, and fathers would concurrently be burying their daughters, the attacks is right here with us.

As a people, we must rise to stop this nonsense now that we still can. It's not too late yet, but if nothing serious is done, and urgently too, tomorrow might too late and catastrophic for us all, God forbid!

The Nigerian Government has just labeled IPOB a terrorist group. First, it is laughable, but on a serious note, it calls for concern. That singular act has grown to gain our sympathy for IPOB members, for if Fulani herdsmen who have murdered many, looted homes and raped wives and daughters before the very eyes of their husbands and fathers, who have hacked open the stomachs of pregnant mothers and harvested their foetus haven't ever been arrested, let alone jailed nor labeled a terrorist group, then, this is why Nigeria may never work.

Again, if Nigeria as a nation were to be serious and progressive, there shouldn't have ever being any reason for having a person and character like Muhammad Buhari make it to the Presidency, but hey, this is Nigeria where everything goes, ignorance, sentiments, bias, religious bigotry and tribalism is the "truth, the way and the life" for the populace.

Wait, how did I even end up being a Nigerian?

Nonsense, away and out!
