Supreme Court Judgment: Anambra APDA Chairman, Hon. Obunike Ohaegbu Resigns

Hon. Obunike Ohaegbu, the interim chairman of the newly formed political party, the Advanced People's Democratic Alliance (APDA) in Anambra has resigned from his position and his membership of the party with effect from August 9,2017.

According to Vintage News Online, in a letter dated July 12, 2017 and addressed to the interim National Chairman of the party, Hon. Ohaegbu resigned owing to the recent Supreme Court ruling in favour of Senator Ahmed Makarfi-led National Caretaker Committee.

He further explained in the letter that his resignation was in fulfilment of some of the pre-registration understandings stakeholders of the party reached that the party should only serve as an alternative platform in the event that the Supreme Court rules in favour of the Senator Amodu Sheriff faction of the PDP.

The newspaper quoted him saying that, since Makarfi camp which he supports won the judgement that he is returning back to his former party,the PDP where he can partner with other stakeholders to rescue the country from the current misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC)-led federal government.
