Policeman attached to Abia Speaker's wife who shot FRSC officers has been dismissed

Commissioner of Police in Abia State, Adeleye Oyebade, said the Nigeria Police Force has dismissed Corporal Iroh Orji who shot two officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps in the Owerrinta area of the Aba/Port Harcourt Expressway two weeks ago.

Orji had, while intervening in a disagreement involving the wife of the Speaker, Abia State House of Assembly, Mr. Chikwendu Kalu, shot the officers who stopped the car in which the speaker’s wife was travelling with her aides.

Oyebade condemned the act, saying the command had taken appropriate action against the policeman.

He said, “I have been an apostle of policing with the fear of God. The action of the corporal is condemnable and unacceptable. I will just say he is not one of us because he has been shown the way out and dismissed from the force."
