Photos From APGA's National Convention, Party Dissolves State Executive Committee, Sacks Victor Oye, Many, Others

National Convention of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA was held on Friday, 11th August 2016 by its factional chairman, Chief Martin Agbaso in Owerri, the Imo state capital.

At the convention, Chief Martin Agbaso announced the immediate expulsion of Victor Oye from the party.

The Agbaso-led faction also expelled a former Minister of Information, Labaran Maku; a former Deputy National Chairman (North), Alhaji Adamu, his counterpart for the South, Mr. Uchenna Okogbue, and other former members of the national working committee of the party.

The party chieftains expelled were alleged to have committed gross misconduct.

The convention confirmed the nomination of Agbaso as the authentic national chairman of the party as well as the nomination of Alhaji Ahmed Musa as the party’s national secretary.

Jerry Obasi was confirmed as the deputy national chairman (South), Ike Nkolagu as the national vice-chairman (South-East), Prince Adesina as the national vice chairman (South-West), and Steve Ahaneku as the national legal adviser of the party.

Agbaso, who addressed the convention, said he was committed to making APGA a truly national party.

He said the party would work hard to retain Anambra State later in the year and also win elections in other states in the country.

“I will bring change that will make everybody envious of the party. I am not running for any position in Imo State again. My job is to see that all our candidates vying for various positions in future elections emerge victoriously."
