PDP Primaries: The Intrigues To Rig In Obaze, By Ifeanyi Nwokoye

As written Ifeanyi Nwokoye

Ahead of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Governorship Primary Election in Anambra State, billed for Monday, August 28, 2017, the attempts by former Governor Peter Obi, conniving with certain top shots in the party have been uncovered.

The political intrigues to rig in Obi's former SSG, Mr. Oseloka Obaze have become multi-dimensional ahead of the primaries on Monday.

Top party actors involved in this mess to destabilise Anambra PDP include Ex-Governor Peter Obi; Anambra PDP Caretaker Committee Chairman, Prof. ABC Nwosu; Governor Nyesom Wike  of Rivers State; Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State; Senator Godswill Akpabio and Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa-Ibom State.

The Uncovered Plots

1. Falsifying of Delegates List: It has been uncovered that Ex-Governor Peter Obi in a bid to corrupt the Anambra Caretaker Committee to favour his stooge, Obaze, just gave out a Nissan Jeep to the Committee Chairman, Prof. ABC Nwosu. This is in a bid to influence the falsification of the delegates list.

2. On Monday, August 21, 2017, Wike and Fayose came to Anambra State by 11am for the Ward Congresses to get the Delegate list for the Primaries. They called a caretaker meeting by 12:00noon which ended by 2:00pm... Then, they both left for Lagos with Fayose by 4:00pm with the result.

Is it possible that results from Ward congresses be returned by 4:00pm?

This is unbelievable. This Anambra State, where some towns will take you approximately 3hours to ply from Awka, the State capital.

3. Are you aware that Peter Obi's wife is from Akwa-Ibom State, thus he is an in-law to Godswill Akpabio and Governor Emmanuel Udom?  Are you also aware that Oseloka Obaze is also their in-law as his wife is from Akwa-Ibom? This is why Akpabio and Udom have both been making clandestine efforts to impose Obaze as PDP flag-bearer ahead of the November 18, Governorship election in Anambra State.

It must be stated that the path Peter Obi has trailed in the past by foisting Governor Willie Obiano on his former party, APGA and Ndi Anambra, the unprecedented negative results which we have seen today in the mediocre governance in Anambra State, is about repeating itself again if lovers of Truth and PDP Anambra don't stand up now.

It must be reiterated that Peter Obi and his stooge, Oseloka Obaze are not really staunch members of the PDP.

They are both newbies whose memberships in the PDP are fraught with controversies. So, allowing them to dictate the workings of the PDP in Anambra State with highfalutin IMPUNITY, especially now that the national leadership of the party under the distinguished chairmanship of Sen. Ahmed Makarfi, is making frantic efforts to repositioning the party across the country is an ANATHEMA that must be nipped in the bud.

PDP Anambra for over 11years has been stifled as a result of GROSS IMPUNITY by few corrupt elements in the party. With the dissolution of the various factional leaderships of the party in the state, one would have thought that party stalwarts would learn a big lesson and avoid taking the party on the road of self-destruct.

Against this backdrop, it behooves on the national leadership of the party to call these party top shots to order.

Governor Emmanuel Udom of Akwa Ibom State has no business with Anambra election, likewise Ex-Governor Godswill Akpabio. These duo must avoid bringing this In-lawship intrigues to Anambra State.

Governors Wike and Fayose must be properly guided as well, and not allow their personal interest overide the general interest of the party.

History beckons on the Anambra PDP Caretaker for Monday's primaries to avoid towing the path of IMPUNITY and SELF-DESTRUCT.

All candidates must be allowed to go test their popularity before the real party delegates on Monday.

Let Anambra PDP say no to imposition of candidate.
