Match Analysis: Craig Pawson Happened At Stamford Bridge Today

By Uchenna Obaji

Bookmakers priced Burnley at 11.30 odds to win and 58 odds to score 3 goals at Stamford Bridge. They were hopeless bets but not when the worst referee in Europe is at the centre of the game. Craig Pawson on a normal is a nightmare and we can only laugh at his mindless display of contempt for the Blues.

In just 13 minutes played, Gary Cahill committed a foul that decent and fair minded referees would dismiss with a wave of hand but Craig Pawson reached for his breast pocket and pulled a red card. It was a psychological blow  for Chelsea side who have been searching for a leader that could step into Eden Hazard's boot till the Belgian talisman returns from injury.

That guy is Morata. He came from bench and grabbed a goal, then the second that was wrongly ruled offside. Craig Pawson became tensed, he didn't trust Burnley to perfect his pre-match script so he went in search for another red card. The booking of David Luiz was equally hilarious but it is part of the footnotes to danger Craig Pawson has become to premier league. His dragnet caught Fabregas and Chelsea were reduced to 9 men.

As Morata continued to rampage through Burnley defence, he grabbed an assist and set tone for a possible comeback in a match that ended in first half. Pawson began to share yellow cards to everyone in Blue jersey and even awarded a near penalty free kick to Burnley. He encouraged them to delay dead balls and the villain got his wish at the end of the match.

For Chelsea fans, this is a familiar territory since we set premier league points records in 2005. We have seen Frisk, Tom Henning Ovrebo, Howard Webb, Mark Clattenburg and other flawed guys coming against Chelsea in such a mindless open confrontation. Just like everyone of them, Craig Pawson will equally end in the dustbin of history.
