‘It's Nigerian tradition’: American based rapper, Wale defends spraying daughter with money on her birthday

Nigerian born American rapper Wale has said he doesn’t care about the grief he’s gotten for spraying his daughter with dollar bills.

Wale had been heavily panned on social media for spraying money, a Nigerian party tradition on his daughter at her recent birthday party.
Amidst all the noise about it, the ‘Ambition’ emcee says he’s unperturbed about the wrath he’s incurred as a result of the act.

He urged his critics to respect his tradition and get some education on it before attacking him.

“I don’t care, that’s just a little bit of that ignorance you get in this country [the US] sometimes, for other cultures. I’m used to it,” he told US entertainment site TMZ

“You’ve just got to respect other people’s traditions on all levels before you speak on it, you should know about it. I’m proud of where I come from. That’s just what we do, that’s all I knew from when I was growing up.”
