Standard Treatment For Chronic Heart Failure Patients

Below are standard treatment for chronic heart failure patients

1. Metolazone 5 to 20 mg once daily

2. Captopril 25 to 50 mg three times daily

3. Aspirin 75 to 81 mg once daily

4. Bisoprolol 5 to 10 mg once daily

5. Digoxin 125 mcg once daily

5. Simvastatin 20 mg every night

Please note that with chronic heart failure, you may not live more than 5 years from the time of diagnosis even with optimal medical treatment.

For very young patients, implantable cardioverter defibrillators and artificial hearts (see pictures) may buy you some time while waiting for a heart transplantation.
