PHOTOS: How I Ensured An Incidence Free IPOB Rally In Owerri – Okorocha

The executive governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has said he disregarded every recommendation from both security agents and some aides, directing that nothing should be done to disrupt the IPOB rally which grounded business activities at the state capital on Friday, July 28th.

According to him; "As long as they are not violent, it is within their rights to hold rallies and speak whatever they want to speak. After all, that is why I built the Freedom Square."

The governor said he had the option of ordering that security agents are deployed to all entry points to Owerri but rejected the idea, encouraging those who may feel favorably disposed to the IPOB's struggle to join them in the rally.

He also instructed that no one should do anything to stop the protest, even when the overzealous and obviously irritable agents provocateurs decided to block the entrance to the Government House, Owelle directed that they should be left alone.

He said; "This is the People's House, they are welcomed."

Thousands of Biafran agitators came into Owerri with over 500 commercial buses with their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
