OPINION: Nnamdi Kanu And The Unenlightened Yoruba Youths, By Gbonka Ziano Ebiri.

In the course of our forceful coexistence, heartbreaking events had occurred among all ethnic groups in the contraption called Nigeria and the most disheartening or devastating was the extermination of Biafrans through starvation by the Nigerian establishment controlled by Hausa/Fulani on one side and Yoruba whose leader worked as the de facto president on the other 1967-70.

As a student of history with a double degree in politics and international relations, the emotion I expressed towards the Jewish children and women exterminated across various camps by Hitler popularly regarded as the Holocaust (1943-45), was the same I felt for children and women of Biafra exterminated by the Nigeria establishment during the civil war. My conscience won't allow me to overlook the death of 3million souls because they simply not from my ethnic nation.

This brings me to the gullible/unenlightened Yoruba youths who lacks every sense of history, how do you phantom the systemic genocide of 3million people in your ethnic group because of secession? And you expect everyone to accept such tragedy and move on? Make no mistake if I were Nnamdi Kanu, my sentiments towards both Hausa/Fulani and Yorubas would be much more than what we had so far witnessed. But most of you are deplorable, you exhaust your energy for the wrong reasons. Let us together examine burning issues in our region in contrast to Nnamdi Kanu's rhetorics or insults towards us.

1. Security of lives and property -
Instead of getting rid of the Fulani hegemony over our regional security which made the baddoo cult a demon on our soil and thus turned some of our people to barbarians with increasing jungle justice going on in our ancestral home we focus on petty rhetorics spewed by Nnamdi Kanu.

Also, annually Igbos who have little or no hope of making headway in their region not because he/she is lazy, but because the Nigerian establishment as controlled by Fulani and Yoruba had over the years implemented a static policy to make their region landlocked thus led their people to our region for survival. And within 12months he/she is building mansions with unverifiable wealth a case study of Evans.

Lets us assume the police, Efcc, Icpc and military are devolved under regional control, the mentioned institutions are controlled today by Fulani would be under the watch of Yoruba sons and daughter and this will make no Igbo son or daughter who wants to be involved in organized crime make such progress on our soil a case study of Malaysia, Thailand, China etc many Igbo son and daughters are arrested on daily basis.
Sadly, instead of demanding for regional control of lives and properties in our region which have become they playfield for crime you exhaust your energy on Nnamdi Kanu who is only saying nothing but the truth about the foolish establishment in the contraption.

2. Sea ports -  Before Nigeria was created the Biafra region was not landlocked but today it is Landlocked. The establishment concentrated the whole Nigeria to Yoruba land, which made Igbos flood our region as a result of the business enabling environment. The seaports in Lagos has numerous positions which should be manned by unenlightened you based on competence, but rather kids from Futa Jalon aka destiny exterminator are in absolute control yet you all remain unperturbed. You see no sense in what Kanu stood for that concentration on Yoruba waterways is not only a disadvantage to Biafrans but a huge disadvantage to unenlightened you because most business as operated by other ethnic nations in Yoruba land would be available to you yet rather than addressing this very important issues you are exhausting your energy on arrant nonsense.

3. Education -
This vital sector, explains why Yorubas collectively are actually not as intelligent as many tag them. Reason being that the kids from Futa Jalon who inserted the clause labeling their region and people "academically deficient" are the same set of individuals who set the tone for the Yoruba nation since the suspension of regional government in 1966.

Yet, it doesn't trigger your annoyance that the educational deficient Fulani drafts the curriculum for the efficient educational Yoruba. The reason why Federal universities today have slots for states irrespective of your credentials or performance. Borno's citizen must be admitted into the University of Ibadan based on set slot, that is called Federal Character. This is very laughable while Yoruba sons and daughter who performed overwhelmingly would either move to the school in the North or wait for another year.

And you call the Yorubas the most intelligent in Africa you are actually dreaming.

Recently, Kids from Futa Jalon sets a new academic policy mandating Islamic studies for Southerners. This explicitly explains what they truly stood for. They employ Jamb to regulate Southerners from gaining admission, set different cut off marks for their parasitic states at every level and instead of you working on what you can see is truly lopsided, you are exhausting your energy on rhetorics.

The Nigerian system has destroyed your brain, you can no longer reason and I lure you to quickly have a rethink and let us expel every kid from Futa Jalon in charge of our regional institution so we can be in charge of our destiny the last time I checked, Kanu don't control our destiny but Fulani does. Would be rather be insulted and have the power to act or you be cowed and cowed and cowed over and over again without the power to do a thing.

In conclusion, when you are dead, you don't have a clue its pain for people that are close to you. The same way when you are gullible, you still don't know it's pain for people that are close to you.
