Nigeria is a happening tragedy. From the Presidency down to all the security agencies, all we have in those positions are Islamist fundamentalists whose world views are no different from those of Boko haram and ISIS ~~Charles Ogbu
I made this post exactly one year ago. Please go through it and tell me if I have not been proven right. To my eternal regret.
"Yesterday's gruesome murder of the 42 year old mother of seven and an assistant pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church Of God, Mrs Eunice Elisha simply for preaching her religion is one murder too many and it signifies so many things.
First, the fact that this woman was murdered not in sharia-infested core Northern states like Kano, Zamfara, Bornu, Yobe, Bauchi etc but the Federal capital city of Abuja of all places is an indication that her killers meant to send a strong message to Christians which is that this country belongs to them and them alone.
These monstrous beasts didn't just kill any random preacher. They picked a pastor. They didn't just pick her by mistake. It was a well calculated plan to make a very clear unambiguous statement.
And,
If you are expecting any reasonable thing from the so called police arrest and investigation of her alleged murderers, please perish that thought. Nothing will come out of it. ......Okay, I lied. Something will actually come out of it....just not what you expect. You will hear that they've been charged to court and granted bail and the case adjourned till the 2nd coming of Jesus Christ. And before then, more Christians preachers will have been murdered in a more brazen manner with the usual "we are still investigating the incident" from the police.
Save this post, those who murdered this woman will never see the inside of a penitentiary, except this is no longer Nigeria.
Have those beasts who murdered Mrs Bridget in Kano been jailed??????????
You'd be naive to think that Kano state government which is currently pursuing a death sentence against some of her own indigenes for what they call 'blasphemy' would be interested in jailing those who murdered Mrs Bridget for that same 'blasphemy'. Never mind that all the late Bridget Agbohime did was ask her muslim neighbor to go perform his Islamic ritual in his own shop, as against doing it in front of hers.
Those who murdered Mrs Bridget in Kano had and still have the support of some very powerful people who will ensure they never get punished. Those who murdered pastor Mrs Eunice Elisha just yesterday in Abuja have the support of these same very powerful elements.
This murder is not an isolated case. Christian preachers are killed almost on daily bases in core Northern States. Most of these murders go unreported. The police can't even do much. Remember how the immediate past police I.G Solomon Arase could't rescue the 14 year old Bayelsa born #Ese Oruru who was kidnapped by Yunusa Dahiru and hidden in the palace of Emir Sanusi Lamido Sanusi of Kano?? The police I.G had always known the location of the kidnap victim, Ese Oruru as well as the identities of her abductors as well as their location including where the Ese girl was kept, yet, he couldn't rescue the girl until Nigerians started a #hashtag campaign on social media after 8 months. Infact, the I.G categorically told us that he couldn't rescue the kidnap victim without the help of the Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi. So we all waited until our almighty Emir came back from Hajj. Have you guys forgotten??
Considering what happened in Ese Oruru's case where the then I.G was personally incharge plus the effort of thousands of Nigerians on social media, isn't it delusional to expect anything better from this particular case?
When people talk of Islamization, they are not necessarily saying that you will be forced to start praying towards Mecca. No! This is exactly what they mean. It is a gradual process and this is how it all starts. If you can be killed just for preaching your faith on the street which the law allows, and your daughters forcefully taken from you, converted to Islam and hidden in a well known location with the police unable to rescue her, what do you call that??
If a woman pastor can be killed in a broad day light just for preaching her christian faith with no strong word of condemnation from the authorities, what do you call that??
If Mrs Bridget could be killed in Kano in broad daylight with the security agents unable to confront the Islamic mob even when they spent over an hour right there at the Kano market gloating over their 'achievement', what do you call that?
Folks, there is fire on the mountain but surprisingly, no one seems to be running"
