Kyle Walker Completes Manchester City Move From Spurs

Manchester City have completed a deal for Kyle Walker who has signed a five-year contract.

"Honoured to announce I have signed for @ManCity . Had an amazing time at @spursofficial but can't wait to start this new chapter with #MCFC!," the City Twitter account, @ManCity, quoted the defender as saying.

“Pep Guardiola is one of the most respected managers in the world and I feel he can help me take my game to a new level," the former Aston Villa defender further said.

Walker will wear the No.2 shirt, vacant at City since Micah Richards left the club in 2015.

“My agent said it was up for grabs, so I had to take it. It took me a while to get it at Tottenham. So, it's kind of fate that it's here now and available to take it straight away."

Txiki Begiristain, director of football at City said of Walker's arrival.

“Kyle is a fine full-back, one capable of producing quality at both ends of the pitch.

“We’ve followed his progress at Tottenham and have been really impressed by how he has developed. He is now one of the best right-backs in the Premier League and justifiably an England regular.

“I am sure he will be a success at Manchester City this season and beyond.”
