I have taken my time to research and read the contents of the Aburi Accord which was signed by then Nigeria head of States General Yakubu Gowon, Col. Chukwuemeka Odumegu Ojukwu and the rest of the Nigerian representatives, witnessed by Ghanian leader and other representatives of the Organization of African Unity (OAU), only to find out that it is the same restructuring various section of the country are clamoring for now, that was written and signed by Nigeria and all the parties involved in the 1968.
However, when they finally returned to Nigeria after the gentlemen agreement has been signed and sealed, General Yakubu Gowon changed his mind and rejected the agreement prompting Ojukwu into declaring an Independent State of Biafra culminating to the war that claimed the lives of over 2 million Biafrans.
1) The North having ignored the idea of total restructuring in 1968, what would possibly prompt some of them into calling for it now?
2) if they have finally come to accept the fact that only restructuring can save Nigeria, what would now happen to the millions of Biafrans killed between 1967-70?
3) Are they going to ask us to continue to pretend the genocide never happened, continue to hide the history denying our children the opportunity to know their true history?
4) Are they going to pay reparation, rebuild the Eastern region, map out a day for the whole country to remember and mourn those whose lives were sacrificed during the war to keep Nigeria one?
5) Are they going to return the Bight of Biafra to the Nigerian map and stop harassing people for talking about Biafra?
6) Will Christianity, Christ/Jesus be mentioned in the new Nigerian Constitution?
7) Will they remove the Arabic script in the batch of the Nigerian military?
8) Will they rename Naira to another name more suitable to reflect on the diversity of the entire country?
9) Will they remove the Islamic symbol on the roof top of the Nigeria national assembly?
10) Will they stop seeing the resources in the Niger-Delta as the Paramount of Nigerian unity?
11) Will religious freedom be implemented, I mean fully practised that people can now preach in Abuja or any other part of the North without fear of being beheaded?
12) Will they accept to stop using Boko Haram and Fulani Herdsmen to voice their disdain when things don't go their way?
For anybody who still believes that Nigeria will work again, such person should reflect on above sensitive questions.
