Sunday Oliseh Appoints Two New Assistant Coaches At Fortuna Sittard

Fortuna Sittard's manager, Sunday Oliseh has appointed two assistant coaches Alexander Voigt and Gino Facenna at the club ahead of the 2017/2018 Dutch second division campaign.

Voigt, a former player of Borussia Mönchengladbach, Greuther Fürth FSV Frankfurt, Carl Zeiss Jena, Victoria Cologne and Roda JC before he retired, will be Oliseh's first assistant coach.

The 39-year-old who signed a one-year deal at the club previously worked as a youth coach and an assistant to the first team of Victoria Köln.

Facenna, a former defender, will work as Oliseh's second assistant at Sittard.

Oliseh who is currently holidaying in Nigeria told newsmen why he opted to allow his former assistants leave the club.

"When I joined the club in January I told the management I wanted my own assistants and those terms were agreed upon that we would get them from the start of the 2017/18 season," the former Nigeria captain and coach explained.

Oliseh also revealed that his team will start pre-season at the Greenpark Kartepe Resort in Turkey from 10 to 19 July and will play four exhibition games to prepare for the forthcoming season.

​Fortuna Sittard will play VV Sittard, Fortuna Dusseldorf U-23s, a Saudi top team Ettifaq FC and Dutch third division side Achilles '29 and Al Jazira in pre-sesson.

​Fortuna Sittard will start the new season with a home game against FC Dordrecht on Friday, August 18. A week later, they travel to Jong Ajax before hosting rivals MVV Maastricht.​
