OPINION: Uwazuruike And Al Mustapha's Comic Move To Arewa Youths, We Joke Too Much In This Country

Nigeria as nation tend to joke over serious issues. The recent news report making round that Uwazuruike and some comedians  paid a visit to some northern elders could only be compared to watching Ali Baba or Basket Mouth the  comedian.

The visit as they said was to plead with the Arewas to drop their threat of Igbo eviction. The truth be told, in my years on mother earth, I have never enjoyed such a comic display.  Comic to the extent that issues bothering the polity are very serious issues that such comic display cannot address.

What is difficult for the leadership of this country to call for a national dialogue instead of postponing the evil day? Why is it difficult for the leadership of this country to initiate a proper process of discussing the Nigerian problem?

Can Al Mustapha, Uwazuruike and  Ango Abudulahi strongly come out to assure Nigerians that they have resolved the impasse?

Let me make it categorically clear, the Nigerian problem is not a problem that 5 comedians will sit together and address.
Under whose mandate did Uwazuruike embark on the journey?

In the address by the northern youths they were emphatic that their headache  is IPOB and KANU, how come comedians like Uwazuruike rushed for a peace congress, very funny. Can one resolve crises without parties to the crisis as stakeholders?

The problem in Nigeria is it a Kanu vs Arewa issue? The answer is NO.

The problem in Nigeria is that of structural defect and imbalance.  It is a problem that centres on injustice, marginalization, nepotism,religious intolerance,internal colonisation, dual ideology of the 1999 constitution,economy, rule of law, corruption etc.

Looking at the above as the necessary cause of tension and unrest in the country, I ask, was this part of what Uwazuruike and Al mustapha resolved in 30mins.

Where are the other ethnic nationalities? The middle belt, the Yorubas, Niger Deltans, Arewa or Core north. We need to be serious in this country.

Caveat :If the essence of that meeting was to reassure Igbos not leave the north, then anyone taking them serious needs a psychiatric evaluation.

Was the coalition of northern youth in that meeting?  Was any document signed?

Pending when the actors within the Nigerian political system calls for a true dialogue, pls Ndi Igbo and southerners vacate the north. The owners of the land have spoken.  Don't be a victim of comic deception.
