Opinion on Nnamdi Kanu's "No election" in Anambra

Early scientists were confronted with the challenge of what they saw as inaccurate teachings by self-proclaimed vicars of Christ. As they began to dedicate their research works to scientific truth, the ancient practices in Rome felt threatened by modern world. Some scientists were physically assaulted, many paid with their blood for discrediting the infallible words of the Vatican pontiff.

Did they stop scientific research? No

Did they relocate to Mars or moon to avoid their adversaries? No

Did they call for war against the Roman church? They would have been discomfited by a better organised and well funded Vatican establishment.

They melted into the church, without losing their scientific identity. They became bishops and cardinal and accelerated scientific research with funds from corporations affiliated to the church. They eventually collapsed the dictatorial and ultraconservative practices and set ground for the emergency of modern liberalism.

That was how scientists solved their problems many centuries ago. In Nigeria today, we have political jobbers precariously feasting on mass ignorance that's seeking  expression, howbeit, using tragically obsolete tactics. How else does one explain this Anambra gubernatorial election boycott being preached by these opportunists that claim to love Igboland more than the rest of us.

Instead of telling their followers to be properly armed with their PVCs and be ready to take back the state from the political elitists, they are promoting hate, thrusting their own relevance on the durability of ethnic bigotry in Nigeria. Sad!
