As an individual, I strongly differed and condemned the utterances of one of our own, Sen. Chris Ngige, the leader of APC in my home State of Anambra when he had stated that ndi-Igbo have no right to complain against marginalization of the Buhari-led Government because Igbos didn't vote him in.
While, I disagree with Former Gov. Ngige about such unguarded utterances that to me, is very wrong. Today, I'm shocked to have read first hand, the response of the former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode. He had responded to Ngige also and called bluff the stand that ndi-Igbo have no rights to speak up.
These are words which makes Fani-Kayode's supposed correction actually dead on arrival, if not totally nonsensical. To Chris Ngige in reference, he used such dirty and disrespectful words such as: devilish, pygmy, village idiot, compound fool and an unrepentant slave. His last claim that Ngige has sold his soul to the devil and is eating crumbs are all well blown out of reach of any sane, sound, seasoned and polished person.
For now, sentiments aside, it's no more about what Ngige said or what he didn't say, for me, Mr. Femi Fani-Kayode went overboard and his unguarded utterances are way too out of contests and perhaps, its an insult on the collective mentality of ndi-Igbo.
No doubt, Fani-Kayode is a smart and intelligent man, but I can't believe or understand why sometimes he chooses to blow things out of proportion and in striving to correct or drive home his point, he does more harm that good.
I don't want to believe the allegation that he still owes an Igbo father the bride price for his daughter, else, the marriage isn't biding.
We should be intelligible, smart and disciplined enough to correct with love and place our stands on constructive criticisms laden with facts not destructive criticisms. Fani Kayode's isn't just destructive, it's insensitive and totally uncalled for.
